Confirmed: Monex Group To Acquire Coincheck

Coincheck started to reimburse users as previously mentioned by Cointelegraph.
In a press release on their site Coincheck affirmed the purchase. As stated by the exchange, the illegal violation at Coincheck resulting in $534 mln value of stolen NEM led them to “change our customer makeup and other management system”   Coincheck says it has “discussed the possibility of getting full support by the company.”
Monex Croup intends to make Coincheck a wholly owned subsidiary in the combined financial results for the first quarter of the year ending March 31, 2019.

The Representative Director of Coincheck would likely be Toshihiko Katsuya, Who’s the Managing Director of Monex Group. CEO and founder of Monex, Oki Matsumoto, will assume that a place as Director.

Japanese financial services supplier Monex Group announced that it will acquire 100 percent of shares of Coincheck Inc., as demonstrated by a Monex press launch April 6.

The acquisition price is calculated from the internet asset quote of Coincheck in the conclusion of the fiscal year ending March 2018.
Directors and corporate auditors will be appointed in an extraordinary general shareholders meeting of Coincheck. Coincheck founders Koichiro Wada and Yusuke Otsuka will step down from their respective posts as CEO and Director of both Coincheck, and will stay on as working officers.
